The Fourth Pig is pleased to be participating again at the Guelph Organic Conference in early 2020. As always we will have a booth at the free trade show (Saturday January 25-Sunday January 26th). Come by booth #81 in the basement to talk to us about using natural healthy materials in our buildings to have healthier homes and a healthier planet.
We are excited as well to be presenting this year with a session by our General Manager Melinda Zytaruk along with Fourth Pig board member and Project Manager of Local Food and Farm Co-ops, Sally Miller.
The presentation, “My food is organic, why isn’t my house?” will give an overview of principles and practices of sustainable building; look at the crucial use of natural materials for healthy, energy efficient, low carbon buildings; explore 3rd party certifications for green buildings (strengths and weaknesses), challenges of greenwashing, lessons from the organic food sector for the construction sector, and the great opportunities for building naturally.
While program details are subject to change, this workshop is scheduled for Sunday January 26th at 10:30am. It is part of the stream “It’s a big organic world out there”.
Please note that while the trade show is free and open to the public, there is a conference fee to attend presentations and workshops. Registration for the 2020 Conference will be available in late October / early November 2019.
