Fourth Pig Staw bale home part of Ontario Natural Building Tour

Natural building construction uses locally obtained and renewable materials, to produce homes and buildings that are visually unique and healthy to live in, while striving to keep energy consumption and its’ associated emissions as low as possible. As a way of promoting natural building, the Ontario Natural Building Coalition coordinates an annual Natural Homes Tour on the first Sunday of October each year.

We are once again participating and if you missed our open house for Green Energy Doors Open, come on by to visit our home tour. We converted this leaky and poorly insulated '60s home in Lake of Bays, Muskoka, to a quiet, comfortable year-round family haven through a combination of straw bale wrap, dense pack cellulose, an additional exterior wall and straw bale insulated addition.

Location: 1033 North Tooke Lake Rd , Baysville Ontario.
